What is the A (H1N1) influenza?
It is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A strains of the influenza virus. It regularly causes high flu outbreaks in pigs but with low death rates. There are four main sub-types of the virus, but the most recent isolated influenza viruses from pigs have been H1N1 viruses.

Malaysia’s H1N1 third case

A 23-year old Malaysian student who arrived from the United States on Monday was tested positive for Influenza A (H1N1), making him the third confirmed case here since the worldwide outbreak.
The student has been admitted at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban.

Second H1N1 case hit Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 (Reuters) - Malaysia has identified its second case of the H1N1 flu in a patient at a hospital in the northern island state of Penang, the online version of The Star newspaper reported on Saturday.

The patient is a friend of Malaysia’s first confirmed case, a 21-year-old student now being treated at a hospital in Selangor state for fever, sore throat and body aches.
